Baguio Holiday (part 4): Ate went home, We had dinner at Hill Station

December 29, 2015

My ate needed to leave that day for she is needed back at work. We had our early buffet breakfast then off we went to session road to stroll. Our mom didn't go with us, so she just asked us to buy her lunch when we get back. My ate and I both love walking along session road. It brings back good old childhood memories like pasyalan with my cousins, our gimik days and nights and some mischievous shinanigans in the city.

Before we we went back to Citylight hotel, we decided to buy mama her lunch at the famous Don Henricos. Then of course while waiting for our food, we had our selfies for posterity's sake!

After lunch, my ate and I went to Victory station and waited for almost an hour before her departure time. Sayang my ate was not able to celebrate new year with us. :-(

Before going to Hill Station, we need to make a selfie and show off our OOTN (outfit of the night)
she loves her jacket given by ate anna

oh mama you look good!

really? let me take a look!

Dinner time at Hill Station was romantic! Hill Station is located in Casa Vallejo. My mom told me they used to stay there and she noticed a lot has changed.

We were seated outside 'cause my mom loved their garden and because I forgot to make reservations. Yes you need to make reservations to get the best seats in the house. She ordered the lengua while I tried their Moroccan spare ribs. It was a delightful dinner! It was also romantic! Hopefully next time ate Eya and Anna would be able to join us next time.

When we were about to leave the place, I heard someone call my name and to my surprise, it was one of my students at FERN. Everyone meet my beautiful former student, Karina. You can call her Kash! I was so happy to see her! And I know she was also glad to see me! What a romantic place indeed this Hill Station!

Baguio Holiday (part 3): Joy Rides and Family Dinner

December 28, 2015

We all woke up early to catch the hotel's breakfast buffet. We planned to leave early to avoid traffic going to the BenCab museum.

What I love about our hotel is the location. Vacant taxi cabs usually pass by our hotel which is very convenient for us. By the way our hotel is located at General Luna road.

After our sumptuous breakfast buffet, we headed out to go explore some of the new spots in Baguio City staring with BenCab Museum.

I tell going to BenCab Museum was easy breezy but pricey. It was flagged down and was worth 250 pesos just going there. When we arrived, lo and behold, it was closed! What? It means I would be spending another 250 pesos going back to session road. Haay! :-(

Our taxi driver offered his services to us in case we need to go somewhere else like Mines View, Wright Park, John Hay and the like, but we declined his kind offer for we are no dayo of Baguio City. Meaning we've been there and done that. Besides, Baguio is our home!

Once we were in session we immediately went to Maharlika to buy pasalubong for ate Anna. She's into long silver necklaces so that's what I'm buying her. Next we visited the market then had lunch at Sizzling Plate. Aside from ordering sizzling steaks we also ordered their specialty dessert which was sans rival. It was the yummiest sans rival ever! You should try it when you're in Baguio!

Welcome to Sizzling Plate!

My sumptuous lunch!

oh so pretty and elegant

We went back to our hotel gastronomically satisfied!

Come dinner time, we were already at my cousin's house in Aurora Hill. He and his family with her mom, auntie Helen (my dad's sister) live in the Padilla-Floresca ancestral house/home. We had the loveliest dinner. It was all healthy and fresh! I was in healthy heaven! Sayang my nephews and niece was not there for they have their Calara reunion party in Camp 7. Over dinner, we mentioned that the bencab museum was closed and my cousin laughed and told us that all museums in Baguio are closed every Monday. Oh my! Never knew that! Silly me! Another sayang is that we were not able to take pictures. Sad! :-(

It was nearly my mom's bedtime so we needed to return to our hotel. My cousin , his wife and auntie Helen gave us a ride back to our hotel.

At the hotel, I invited my mom and ate for a night cap at the hotel's bar. My mom declined 'cause she really needs to sleep but my ate happily accepted my invite. My ate and I bonded over life, love, work, family and lovelife. We enjoyed each others company and also enjoyed our drinks that helped us snooze off.
my beautiful date!

Baguio Holiday (part 2): Happy Birthday Auntie Belen!

December 27, 2016

It's my auntie Belen's 74th birthday and we were there to celebrate it with her. Sayang my cousin Glenn was not able to make it to her mother's birthday celebration for he was busy with his campaign.  What is important is that my mom and auntie Helen were there to celebrate! We all enjoyed the feast prepared by auntie Belen and manang Pina.

Happy Birthday auntie Belen! Sorry was not able to bring Tala ;-(

Baguio Holiday (Part 1)

December 27, 2015, Sunday

Now where do I start my story! My Holiday! My Baguio!

I woke up at 4:00 am so I can leave before 5am to avoid traffic on a Sunday. Surprisingly, when I was just a few blocks away from Victory Cubao, heavy traffic cometh my way. Good thing it was only 5:20am and by 5:30am I was in Victory Liner Cubao. Inside I saw my mom and ate Eya waiting patiently for me. I had coffee and a little snack for breakfast. We boarded the bus at 6am and left ten minutes after.

We arrived in Baguio at around 1pm and went straight to Citilight Hotel. Our "home" for the next five days. We checked in, freshen up then went out to say "hello" to our home sweet home, Baguio City. After unpacking our things, we went to my cousin Garth's workplace in Tiongsan. We had our kamustahan and he invited us to have dinner in Aurora Hill the next day.

Since it was my aunt's birthday that day we arrived, a simple celebration was held at her home in Quezon Hill. But before that, we fetched our auntie Helen who lives in the Padilla-Floresca ancestral home.
